Personal data
MoveNRent processes your personal data in accordance with the Data Protection Act 2017 of the Republic of Mauritius.
What we collect, and why
The data we collect is what you voluntarily enter into one of the site's two forms, supplemented where relevant by the haulier-partner documents described below:
- Quote form — name, phone or WhatsApp number, email, requested truck, departure and return dates, and the free-text message you write. Purpose: to reply with a price and availability.
- Partner form — name, company, phone, email, region, vehicle type and message. Purpose: to review your application to join the partner network.
- Booking started but not completed — if you enter your contact details in the booking form without finishing it, we keep the name, phone, email, truck and dates you entered for up to 30 days, so we can call you back and help you complete your request. This information is deleted automatically after 30 days, or as soon as you confirm your booking.
This information is sent to us by email only: it is not stored in any database on the site. The legal basis for the processing is your explicit request to be contacted.
Haulier-partner documents, collected when a haulier applies to the network: their driving licence and insurance certificate are compulsory; photos of their vehicle, a service logbook or invoice, and their company documents (BRN, VAT) are requested where relevant. These documents are used solely to verify that they may lawfully carry goods for our customers. They are kept in a private area accessible only to administrators and are not published, except for a photo of the vehicle that MoveNRent may publish on the partner's public profile, only after their explicit approval. If an application is declined, MoveNRent deletes these documents.
Who has access to it
Your data is passed to MoveNRent and is never sold, rented or passed to third parties for commercial purposes. Two technical providers are involved in delivering the message: Resend (sending the email) and Google (MoveNRent’s Gmail inbox).
Retention period
Requests we receive are kept in our inbox for 12 mois, then deleted.
Your rights
You may at any time request access to your data, its correction, its deletion, or object to its processing. Write to us at contact@movenrent.mu or call +230 5842 1100; we reply within 30 days. If our response does not satisfy you, you may refer the matter to Mauritius’s Data Protection Office.
Cookies
No measurement or advertising cookie is set until you have said yes. On your first visit, a banner asks you the question once. You may decline: the site works exactly the same, and nothing is set.
Necessary cookies, set without consent because the site cannot work without them: a session cookie in the administration area reserved for MoveNRent, and, during the site’s preparation phase, a private preview cookie. Neither is used to track you.
Advertising measurement cookie, set only once you have agreed: the Meta pixel (Facebook/Instagram). It tells us which adverts bring in genuine rental requests. Meta receives this data and may process it outside Mauritius. When you send a request, we also pass Meta your email and phone number in one-way encrypted (hashed) form, so the request can be matched to the advert that brought it in: Meta cannot recover the original value from it. Nothing is resold.
Your choice is stored in your browser, not on our servers: clearing it is the same as clearing the site's data in your browser.
