1. Who may rent
- Hold a manual-transmission car driving licence, valid and current. A licence limited to automatic transmission does not permit driving our trucks.
- Minimum age: 21 ans — minimum time holding a licence: 2 ans
- Produce a valid form of identification.
- For businesses: the company name and BRN.
Only people declared and registered on the contract are permitted to drive the vehicle. Any driving by an undeclared third party voids the insurance cover.
2. Booking and payment
The booking is confirmed once the quote is agreed. Deposit at booking: aucun acompte. Payment of the balance: À la réservation. Accepted payment methods: Virement bancaire - Juice
3. Deposit
A deposit of Rs 30 000 is required when the vehicle is handed over. Refund: Une fois le contrat terminé et le camion retourné, après vérification de l’état du véhicule — less any amounts owed under these conditions where applicable (missing fuel, damage, lateness, cleaning, fines).
4. Duration, pickup and return
Pickup and return take place at Coastal Road, Melville — Grand Gaube, during opening hours (Monday to Saturday, 7am – 7pm; Sunday by request). Delivery of the vehicle to your address can be arranged, as an option and on quote.
Any return delay not agreed in advance is charged at Rs 2 000 par heure dépassée.
5. Mileage and fuel
Mileage is unlimited across the island, with no per-kilometre charge. Fuel is the renter’s responsibility: the level is checked and noted jointly at departure, and the vehicle must be returned at the same level. Otherwise, missing fuel is charged as follows: Au prix à la pompe diesel + Rs 500 de frais de service.
6. Insurance and liability
The vehicle is insured for the whole rental period. In the event of a claim, an excess remains payable by the renter: Rs 30 000 par sinistre.
Not covered, and remaining entirely at the renter's expense:
- damage resulting from driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs;
- damage caused by a driver not declared on the contract;
- damage to the cargo carried, which is not insured by MoveNRent under any circumstances — it is for the renter to take out their own cover if they wish;
- damage to the tail lift or the refrigeration unit resulting from misuse;
- damage resulting from exceeding the vehicle's maximum payload or dimensions (height).
Fines, traffic offences and impound fees incurred during the rental remain payable by the renter.
7. Use of the vehicle
The renter agrees not to:
- sub-let or lend the vehicle;
- carry hazardous or illegal materials, or passengers in the load area;
- exceed the permitted payload;
- use the vehicle outside the territory of the Republic of Mauritius;
- tow anything without MoveNRent's prior written agreement.
The vehicle is handed over clean and must be returned in the same condition. Exceptional cleaning is charged at Rs 3 000.
8. Refrigerated truck
MoveNRent Cold is rented in two modes: standard transport (refrigeration unit off) or refrigerated down to −5 °C. The mode chosen is stated on the contract. MoveNRent guarantees the refrigeration unit works correctly at departure, but cannot be held responsible for goods spoiling as a result of poorly prepared loading, a break in the cold chain before the rental, or a setting changed by the renter.
9. Cancellation
Any cancellation must be reported to us by phone or WhatsApp. Applicable conditions: Annulation gratuite jusqu’à 72 heures avant le début de la location. MoveNRent reserves the right to cancel a booking if the vehicle is unexpectedly out of service; where this happens, sums paid are refunded in full or a replacement vehicle is offered.
10. Breakdown and assistance
In the event of a breakdown, accident or puncture, contact MoveNRent immediately on +230 5842 1100 before taking any action. No repair carried out without our prior agreement will be reimbursed. In the event of an accident, a report must be drawn up and, if third parties are involved, the police must be called.
11. Governing law
These conditions are governed by the law of the Republic of Mauritius. Any dispute falls within the jurisdiction of the Mauritian courts.
In the event of any conflict between this page and the signed rental agreement, the signed rental agreement prevails.
